This is a handsome Oiled-Walnut Nesting Side Table Set, designed by Bertha Schaefer for M. Singer & Sons in 1952 and crafted in Italy for the Singer Modern collection. The set includes three small round tables that nestle underneath a larger rectangular table when not in use. The ingenious design was intended to allow the tables to serve as chair-side companions only when needed, allowing for ease of storage when not in use, optimizing space utilization.
Each of the three round tables measures 16.5 inches in diameter, with a height of 23 inches. The larger table measures 17.5 inches long, 24.5 inches wide, and 24.5 inches high. There is some wear on the larger table surface, and some surface blemishes are present on the three smaller tables. There are some small chips around the edge of the one table as pictured. Overall, this set is in good condition. Please see photos.
